R.S.V.P. Russia reopen Soviet-era farmers’ market, Danilovsky

R.S.V.P Russia organised two stand out events in May around the re-opening of giant Soviet-era farmers’ market, Danilovskiy Market. The market’s a showcase of the ongoing gentrification and is now largely about deli food cooked and served in a myriad of little eateries, including such gems as a Dagestani dumpling shop and a Vietnamese pho soup kitchen.

On the first night, there was a private party for celebrities and media. All the shops and eateries opened their doors to offer guests exclusive tasters and demonstrations. The evening ended with a special performance from Ukrainian rap group, Griby.

The second part of the opening celebrations took place on “Festival Day” at the Danilovskiy Market. Consumers were invited to take part in amusing activities, such as master classes, performances and a special quest.

The events resulted in a record amount of media coverage; 40 news articles and 20 social pages across key publications.
